What the heck is this?
Well, they finally made a movie out of CHICAGO, and we're psyched!
For those of you not familiar with the odyssey that is this great show, soon to be (we hope) a great movie, read on:
Related to the movie:
It is undeniable that this movie would probably never have been made without the current Broadway revival of CHICAGO. The original production, while much loved by theater folks, certainly did not have the impact that this more recent version has. If you haven't seen it yet, treat yourself - it's really a lot of fun. Articles about the movie:
http://www.iht.com/articles/70243.html - this is from the International Herald Tribune, and gives a bit of background on what's up with this project. Don't forget that Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell, and loads of other major stars had been mentioned for roles over the course of this flick's life.
Rosie O'Donnell is being sued by the publishers of the magazine that was named after her. That's not exactly related, but it's fairly whacky.
Article from Australia - yes, it's international news (duh!).
Movie facts:
Movie opens December 27, 2002, but only in limited release (read: Oscar consideration).
Page on imdb: this has some good advance info, including a synopsis.
